Cort & Paul

Cort & Paul was a company of iron founders, ironmongers, silversmiths, jewellers and seed and oil merchants based in Leicester.

The firm was founded by James and Benjamin Cort, originally as Cort & Co. Joseph Bell was taken into partnership and by 1846 the company had become styled as Cort & Bell with an extensive iron foundry known as the Britannia Foundry at Belgrave Gate, Leicester.

By 1885 the business had become Cort & Paul, until some time in the 1920s, when it became Corts Ltd. operating as an ironmonger and builders merchant.
