The Daily Telegraph is a daily broadsheet newspaper distributed throughout the UK and internationally. It was founded in 1855 and the first edition cost 2d and was four pages long.
In 1937 the Daily Telegraph acquired the Morning Post which was a conservative daily newspaper published in London from 1772. Contrary to the then general expectation, the Morning Post did not remain a separate title, but was merged into the Daily Telegraph.
The Daily Telegraph currently has an average daily circulation of around 630,000.
