Ideal Boilers & Radiators Ltd. is a manufacturer of boilers and central heating equipment which was established as the National Radiator Co. Ltd in Hull in 1905.
In the 1920s, the company became Ideal Boilers & Radiators.
Also in the 1920s, Ideal introduced the revolutionary Cookanheat – a combination open fire, central heating boiler, cooking fire and hot cupboard, which moved boilers from basements into kitchens. The Cookanheat introduced central heating into low-priced homes.
In the 1930s the company introduced boilers that used gas rather then coal. Ideal Boilers & Radiators became a public limited company in 1934.
In 1961 the company was described as a manufacturer of boilers, radiators, rayrads and accessories for central heating and hot water as well as sanitary appliances.
The company currently trades under the name of Ideal Commercial Heating.
