Sacratinta was the brand name of a sacramental wine which seems to have been first produced by Alex. Leleux & Co.
This company, together with the Scaratinta brand, was acquired by Scotch whisky and wine merchant H. Stodart & Co. in 1899.
In 1936 Stodart was taken over by Hiram Walker & Sons Ltd., which was a holding company controlling the Scotch whisky operations of Canadian distiller, Hiram Walker-Gooderham & Worts Ltd.
The business is now part of the French drinks group Pernod Ricard.
