Stamina Foods Ltd. was a subsidiary company of Rank Hovis McDougall and made cat and dog food.
In 1972 Spillers acquired Stamina Foods for £1 million. Stamina’s factory in St. Helens was closed prior to acquisition and the use of its brand names Stamina and Paws was subsequently discontinued.
Spillers had previously acquired two other pet food manufacturing companies in 1961, W. G. Clarke & Sons and Spratts Patent Ltd., both of them also commercial overprint users. In 1979 Spillers was acquired by Dalgetty, who sold off the pet food side of the business to Nestlé in 1997.
